Mixtape: Modefi "The Andromeda Mixtape"

Lowell Massachusetts brings us some heat in the form of a multi-talented artist, Modefi. His new project The Andromeda Mixtape is the perfect example of how hard work mixed with a devotion for what you do can result in a quality album. This celestial mix of electronic beeps, heavy rock instruments and crisp snare drums are proof of Modefi's skills behind the production boards. Modefi breathes new life into the rock/rap fusion of years past by switching up flows and layering in contemporary sounds to keep it fresh. Though his tone is mostly dark and serious throughout the album there are a few tracks that are lyrically lighter and upbeat. Overall The Andromeda Mixtape is a well-planned, well-thought-out album filled with powerful energy and die-hard passion. For more updates from Modefi, like him facebook.

Mixtape: The Verbal Surgeon "The Science of Tactics"

The Verbal Surgeon continues to his us with lyrical precision over smoothly-crafted, soulful beats on his latest project, The Science of Tactics. For this third official release he enlists the talents of Hassaan Mackey (Mellow Music Group), Vorheez (Mystika Music), Loop Holes (Norway), Soulkit (South Africa), Mr. Green and more. I've listened to the album a few times and it has a consistent flow from track to track. Standout songs for me are definitely Bully Raps, Trapped, Let Me Do What I Wanna Do To Ya, the self-produced track, Warfare and Still Underground.

Album: Mr. Fritz "Bragging Rights"

Here's the new project from Mr Fritz titled Bragging Rights. It features 13 tracks with four skits and two bonus tracks. The artists joining him on the project include Dutch Rebelle, Latrell James, Top Billion, Galaxy, E.G.O., Matthew Rosewood, Arianna Lashea, M. Card, and Ora Slick.

One of my favorite tracks has to be Where You Come From. The combination of the emcees "machine gun" flow mixed with the "where you come from" sample and the drums makes the track really bang.

The album is spearheaded by lead singles Work, Blue Visa (Ghetto) and Doin What I Gotta Do. It’s executively produced by Fritz and Lindsey Gamble.
